My name is Douglas Bernardo, founder of BDG Cabinetry. My journey into carpentry began long before I ever picked up a tool. It started with my grandfather—a true craftsman of a different era.

He worked with his hands, not because he had to, but because he loved to. In those days, there were no fancy machines. Every piece of furniture was a labor of love: cut with a handsaw, shaped with a chisel, smoothed with a hand sander. Even the glue was made from the trees themselves, harvested in the woods and prepared by hand.

Watching him work was like watching a story unfold—one where every detail mattered. His dedication, precision, and patience lit a fire in me that has never gone out.
